Benno! Awesome piece! My favorite part is the end.

Describing them as hooded death is such an amazing image! All the while a city burns!! awesome and death metal! Also, poppies and drugs - turning their milk into dreams. sweet. And them describing them as having love for this world? makes me think the poppies are in love with our destruction and not what is being destroyed.

Hope all is well! You and the fam!

Thanks a lot Martin! Poppies are so fascinating, how much tragedy and beauty on those dreamy flowers. See ya soon!

What I like about Poppies as a metaphor for peace and love, as I think they are commonly used, is that poppies -- after they bloom -- are very quick to fall over due to the weight of their bulb.

Which, idk, something there I think. Nice poem Benno.

Thanks Josh, that certainly adds another image to think about; Does peace have a weight?
