E.E. Cummings said it best: "Almost anybody can learn to think or believe or know, but not a single human being can be taught to feel. Why? Because whenever you think or you believe or you know, you’re a lot of other people: but the moment you feel, you’re nobody-but-yourself." I think this is why children get it right. Their 'ignorance' gets them to a purity of feeling like nothing else. This makes me eager to get to work on some translations.

Hmmm, that’s an interesting quote, but I think I disagree, but it’s one of those questions that can easily become just a matter of how one defines certain things. I think poetry can serve as way to teach us how to feel at the level that a child does
